Food Inflammation Testing (FIT)

Wendy’s Experience

My daughter, Elena, had stomach problems from the time she was 3 years old. She was always complaining of an upset tummy and often had to run to the bathroom after eating. I had taken her to a pediatric gastroenterologist at that time, who chalked it up to a fructose sensitivity. The diet changes I made for her based on this diagnosis didn’t help at all. I eliminated dairy from her diet as well because I thought this might be to blame (she is lactose intolerant). That helped a little, but I had starting giving her almond milk instead of cow’s milk. Interestingly enough, when we did the FIT Test, her results showed a sensitivity to almonds. They were also causing her tummy pain. Since we received her results in the summer of 2017, we have eliminated all her restricted foods. All gastrointestinal problems have disappeared. Let me be honest here though: Elena is 13 now and makes her own decisions about what she will have with food and beverages when she is out and about with her friends. When she chooses the foods listed here on her FIT Test report, the symptoms typically reappear (temporarily). Having the FIT Test results have been a lifesaver for our family. Not just Elena, but my other children, myself, my parents and my niece.

Food sensitivities and related diseases affect 100 million people worldwide.

Food sensitivities may be responsible for a wide variety of symptoms, including by not limited to: gas, discomfort, bloating, fatigue, joint pain, headaches and migraines, thyroid conditions, depression, anxiety, chronic diseases, and even difficulty losing weight.

The Food Inflammation Test (FIT) uses unique methods that detect both IgG antibody, and Immune Complexes together, to determine the reactivity of each sample against a wide variety of food antigens. The Food Inflammation Tests we offer are provided by KBMO Diagnostics.

These tests measure your sensitivity to foods, colorings, and additives, spanning all major food groups. This is an at-home test, and results are typically available within seven to ten business days. The dietitian will send you your test results and contact you to set up a time to review the results and the elimination diet over the phone. We are also excited to offer the Zonulin Test, which measures intestinal permeability, also known as "Leaky Gut".
