The Benefits of Health Coaching

What is a Health Coach?

A Health coach is an amazing addition to seeing a Dietitian. They meet you where you are and get you to where you want to be. They provide accountability, motivation and help you stay on the right track to your goals. Rather than telling you what to do and which goals to have, they ask questions and encourage you to come up with your own authentic goals. They know that your life is at stake if you don't take care of yourself and will offer unconditional support as you move through the stages of healthy change. Transform your mind, body and life and become more aligned with who you really want to be with our Health Coaching Program.

Why Do You Need a Health Coach?

Everyone has some sort of support team. This includes anything along the lines of a Primary Care Physician, Dietitian, Acupuncturists, Specialty Doctor, Massage Therapist, Chiropractor, Personal Trainer and so on. The one thing that is VITAL to your success in working with a Dietitian and living a healthy lifestyle is someone who will keep you accountable, help you stay on track with your goals, help you change your mindset and so much more.. and that is a Health Coach! Adding a Health Coach to your support team will help you achieve your goals in a realistic manner and help you feel GOOD about it.

Let’s Interview our Very Own Health Coach at RINT… Lori Mollo!

1. When did you first learn about health coaching?

I first learned about Health and Wellness Coaching from Wendy. When I was a patient of Wendys' I told her I was interested in doing something in the Health and Wellness field and she told me about Health Coaching. It seemed like the perfect fit for me. This is a career change for me, but also a passion. To be working in the Health and Wellness field is something I have wanted to do for many years, but I didn't want to go half in, I wanted something that had real credibility.

2. What inspired you to become a health coach?

I love health, wellness, fitness, everything about it. Most of all, I love people...I love meeting new people and most of all I love to help others. Health Coaching allows you to help people in ways that they don't think is possible.

3. How has being a health coach affected your own health and habits?

Health Coaching has made me realize that there are changes I can make, but I need to set specific, measurable, realistic, achievable goals that are time bound! If you do not have set realistic goals then you can not achieve them. You need to pull from yourself...and you need to be ready to change!

4. What is your favorite part about health coaching?

My favorite part is learning...Health Coaching is about psychology, as well as nutrition, and I love learning about that. BUT, what I love most is learning through my clients. They teach me about themselves, their strengths and their challenges. I love seeing them make real changes to make them healthier and feel better. Clients get so happy when they achieve their goals.

5. What is something that most people do not know about health coaching that you think they should?

The client has all the power! The Health Coach is there for guidance and support and to help the client realize their strengths. Health Coaches do not tell the client what they should be doing, or be an expert. Health Coaches do not check in on the client to see if they are doing what they said they would...Health Coaches are cheerleaders for their clients but most of all we are there to listen to our clients.

Well, there you have it! You heard from our very own Health Coach and we think it is your turn to try it yourself. Whether you just need someone to cheer you on and keep you on track or educate you on how to turn your life around, a Health Coach is here to help you do just that and more!
