Smoothie Bombs

Smoothie Bomb.png

Smoothie bombs are a great option for adding some extra fiber, protein, fat, natural sweetener as well as texture and thickness to your shake. I like to make a batch of these ahead of time with flax seed to increase my fiber and omega 3’s. I like the coconut flakes for manganese, cacao powder for inflammation and raw local honey to sweeten and help with spring and summer allergies.

Bomb Tip: Grind up your flax seed in a coffee grinder or food processor right before using it in order to get the most omega 3’s from the seeds. Once flax seed has been ground, it quickly loses it’s antioxidant powder once exposed to air and light. Blending the freshly ground flax into the smoothie bomb mixture and quickly freezing is a great way of preserving the freshness.

Store smoothie bombs in the freezer for up to 3 weeks. Take out 1 and throw it in the blender with your fruit and liquid of choice. Blend and voila! A high fiber, nutritious addition to any healthy smoothie. Annnnd go!!!
